Obama Attempts to Spin Himself as Deficit Hawk
Anyone else incredulous at the political cajones of Pres. Barack Obama in proclaiming that the U.S. needs to stop racking up debt?
This from Obama — who has spent trillions of U.S. dollars in the short time he has been in office.
“President Barack Obama, calling current deficit spending “unsustainable,” warned of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries.
“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,” Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.”
Did Obama steal that line about mortgaging our children’s future from the Republicans? Gasp. Isn’t that what the minority in Congress, and the outraged American taxpayers have been shouting to Obama? Now Obama is attempting to position himself as the Deficit Hawk?
