The Spin-a-rific President has done it again. $100 million in cuts was announced with great pomp, never mind that the money saved will go directly to Pres. Obama's top priorities. That equals no savings to taxpayers by my calculation. The president claims more cuts will be made in an effort to save money. Still, the FY2010 budget of $3.55 Trillion looms large.

The Spin-a-rific President has done it again. The media is lapping up the shiny $100 million in cuts that President Barack Obama announced with pomp.

Obama held his first Cabinet meeting Monday and addressed the subject most Americans are getting expert at: cutting back, cutting spending. After his speech, Obama answered a question. “A hundred million dollars, isn’t that a drop in the bucket, sir?” The White House’s own blog, continued.

President Cuts $100 million to help fund his priorities

Pres. Obama: “It is, and that’s what I just said. None of these things alone are going to make a difference. But cumulatively they would make an extraordinary difference because they start setting a tone. And so what we’re going to do is line by line, page by page, $100 million there, $100 million here, pretty soon, even in Washington, it adds up to real money.” – snip -

In the upcoming weeks, Obama stated that he is going to expect Cabinet members to identify places to cut in their administrative budgets. Not only that, but Obama also said that he “expects” to cut 100 “current” programs in the federal budget to “free up” money to put in much more important areas such as health care, education, energy, and “foreign policy apparatus.” Huh? And uh huh.

I’m not seeing things as clearly as Obama. He expects cutting several $100 million (and I’m being generous with that number) will free up money to pay for his wish list? Wonder what programs he’s cutting.

And wonder what Americans think of Obama’s spin on spending. The FY2010 budget is $3.55 trillion.

Lest we forget the little things, let’s remind ourselves exactly what $1 trillion is….it’s one MILLION millions. I know, it boggled my mind too. So these little cuts Obama is making? Even if you add them up, at his request, they won’t come close to touching what he’s spending. That’s our taxpayer money, stimu-less.

Got tea?

Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve is printing more money to try to solve the credit crisis, and the people who save money for a rainy day are getting the backhand. The Fed’s monetary policy currently punishes the savers and rewards the spenders.

What’s even scarier is the $3.6 Trillion budget that will likely pass the Senate soon. That budget will put America in hock for generations in the name of spreading the wealth around. The so-called tax cuts that 95% of Americans will receive, according to Mr. Obama, will be nullified by his National Energy Tax and other taxes that will be piled on in order to pay for the government’s spending.

Tell us again, Mr. Obama, why spending $3.6 Trillion on FY 2010 budget is a great idea, and why you insist on doubling our country’s debt in 5 years and tripling it in 10 years?

More taxes on the middle class are now in writing.

That’s right, the Democrats are excited about Pres. Barack Obama’s $3.6 trillion budget. Included in the huge budget is the National Energy Tax, which so far has garnered little attention.

The National Energy Tax, which Mr. Obama has said is “non-negotiable” will add $1600 in taxes/year to the average American household. This is what is being termed “cap and trade,” and it is a new energy tax, something the Wall Street Journal termed a “tax on the working class.”

The term “cap and trade” is a misnomer — it is really more of a cap. The government will be able to limit emissions, or ‘polluters,’ by making power producers and the like buy permits for emissions. The ‘polluters’ such as your local electric company, will pass on the increased cost to you, the taxpayer. Yes, this is also known as a tax increase!

So, if you have to cook on the stove, have a refrigerator, heat and cool your house, use a computer or TV, or drive to work, you’re going to be paying extra for doing those things with the National Energy Tax. This energy tax, or cap and trade as it is sometimes known, will limit fossil fuels, thereby making the cost of gasoline and electricity more expensive. Instead of helping the “95% of working families” that Mr. Obama keeps talking about, he will be impacting that group in a hugely negative way with the Energy Tax.

It is an outrage that our Congress and Pres. Obama are creating a huge tax burden for Americans, and disguising it in the form of being “green.”

Are you in favor of the National Energy Tax? Do you want the $3.6 trillion budget to pass? If not, there’s a need to let your congressmen know. They won’t know how you feel — unless you call and tell them.

Have you ever wished you could have it all even though your budget says you can’t?

Well, that’s the predicament our President Obama finds himself in, campaigning for America’s support for his $3.6 trillion budget. Mr. Obama wants to check the box on his wish list of implementing nationalized health care, overhauling education, reducing our dependence on oil while also paying for vast environmental initiatives, all the while demanding, presidentially, that the deficit must be cut.

After analyzing the president’s budget, the Congressional Budget Office reported startlingly dire numbers yesterday regarding Mr. Obama’s proposed annual budget for our country. If Mr. Obama’s budget is implemented, then America will run a nearly $1 trillion deficit per year for 10 years, totaling $9.3 trillion in debt. Just in 2009, the CBO is projecting that under Mr. Obama’s budget proposal that the deficit will be about $1.8 trillion, or 13.1 percent of GDP. At a press briefing Friday, White House Budget Chief Peter Orszag acknowledged that if the CBO projections are correct in their 5% deficit to GDP, that it would “…ultimately not be sustainable.” And Congressman Ron Paul questioned why when America already has a large deficit, Congress and the President want to spend $3.6 trillion in this year’s budget.

Now, I know if our credit card company knew we were going to have that kind of negative cash flow for 10 years (only a mere $1trillion deficit /year, come on!) , we wouldn’t be able to use our card anymore due to its cancellation!

Even Warren Buffett said in a CNBC interview on March 9 that Mr. Obama’s first, second and third job is to win the economic war.

What a nice way of saying that Mr. Obama needs to focus on the economy…. as Mr. Buffett said, winning the “economic war” should be his top three priorities. Where should Mr. Obama’s wish list of nationalized health care, education “investment” and environmental initiatives go? Straight to…. the bottom of his list. The economy must come first; isn’t that common sense, something everyday Americans understand?

Here’s the problem: When our nation is struggling through a prolonged recession, people are losing their jobs or forced to work less hours and take home less pay, or forced to work more hours on less pay. Americans as a whole are tightening their belts and budgets. On the other hand, our government in Washington, D.C. is doing the opposite. The majority of our congressional leaders and our president are trying to spend their way out of this recession. But so is the rest of the world, and the question is, who is going to buy/finance the trillions of dollars in debt that countries worldwide are proposing to spend? No one can say.

Wake up, leaders in Congress and Mr. President. We’re in a recession, and you can’t have it all. We don’t have the money!
